12 July 2010- Whether it is new opportunity, post retirement life or any other reason for moving out of your present state, you will have to consider few important things before relocating to a new state. These things are really important and you must regard these before relocating to a new state.
Make the Checklist
Before packing and moving, make the checklist of all the things which are required and which are not required. Arrange the things that are needed and dispose off that are not.
Arrange the Finance in Hand
Before relocating to a new state or place it is better to have finances for at least three coming months before hand so that you do not have to bear any hardship. If you are lucky enough to have job before relocation then it is advisable to ask if your company would pay the moving expenses or not. If they are paying then nothing like that but if they are not then you will have to make the proper estimates on how much money is required for relocation and settlement. Here think of all the things like credit card payment, taxes, your car, insurance and all. Make the proper list of all the expenses and the money you have. Find out whether you are able to afford the relocation to new state or not.
Get the Driving Direction
If you are relocating to a new state on own then better to get the route map or driving directions so that you face no problem in relocating. There are many new things like Google map, GNPS that can help you in finding the location. So always use these before moving.
Complete the Paperwork Before Relocating
Now if you are moving because of the job then it is advisable to carry the required original paper stating that you have been selected for this job. If you have signed any document it is better to carry that too with you. But there are companies who are into fraudulent activities and will withdraw the offer letter as soon as you reach at new place. So always to the proper inquiry before actually relocating to a new state.
Make the List of Contact Number
You will try to do this as a last thing before relocating to a new state but make sure that you do this. Write all the important phone number with contact details in a dairy as you may end up having low battery in your mobile at time you need the information. Keep the details of your previous job in hand as you may need it. Keep the contact information of the companies like gas, telephone and light so that you can inquire if their services have be disconnected or not. Along with this get the information concerning this in a new state.
Dispose off What You Do Not Need
Do not pack every thing for relocating to a new state. Dispose off the things that are no longer in use. Like you may have unwanted clothing, utensils and other such household things. There is no need to carry extra load with you when you can move very lightly.
