Cushioning and Padding act as a bumper and shock proof material and keep your belonging as safe as possible. So when you get out to unload your belongings you will find these in same shape because of cushioning and padding you have used. Many things are there that can act as cushion for protection.

Newsprint Bumpers as Cushioning and Padding
Bumpers are the best way for cushioning and these are pretty easy to make. If possible get the paper that goes for newsprint but without ink. Search for these at packing supply store and online stores selling packing and paper material. To make bumper first of all laid down the sheet of newsprint on the flat surface. Now take two separate sheets of paper and crumble these separately. Put the crumbled sheets on the laid down newsprint. Roll the newsprint to form a structure that resembles hotdog or sandwich. This is your ready to use bumper.
Take the packing box and place these bumpers at the bottom before placing any material in the box. Once you have made a layer of bumper you can start placing the dishes or fragile items on this. Once one layer is placed you can again lay the another layer of bumber to get proper cushioning.
If you are placing the breakable plates then insert sheets of paper in between the two plates so that these do not break. The inserts will act like cushioning and padding.
After packing the complete box, place another layer of bumpers over it. Close the box and still if there is any space between the lid of the box and bumper layer then insert more bumpers into it. If the things you are keeping are very fragile then you can also place these at the sides of the boxes by making the bumpers to stand vertically. This will protect and act as cushioning once the boxes are stacked over each other.

Do not overload the box as this can damage the material inside. Shake the box a little after packing. If you can listen the voice of items inside then place more bumpers for complete security otherwise just seal it. Label the boxes once these are packed so that there is no confusion when you will unpack these.

You can place these blankets below the furniture and also in between them to reduce the collision. This protect your belonging from scratches. Before placing the belongings in a moving truck cover these completely with moving blankets. Take the mover band and wrap this around so that moving blanket does not get loose.

Cushioning Bubble Wrap
Another way of cushioning while moving is the use of bubble wrap. Bubble wrap has excellent shock absorbing tendency that reduces the impact of shock because of the air filled bubbles.
